If you put down earnest money and fail to come to contract then that money is kept. It depends on how your Resltor did contract.

What does this have to do with dating? And if you accept an offer and put down earnest money no, you cannot get it back. That's what it's there for.

However, you can first ask them nicely to let you out and have your money back, maybe they will, but if not a trick is to tell them you want out of the contract and then if they don't, make life hell for them when you do move forward. Hire a good real estate attorney to do the deal (a mean litigator would be best), then make every single step of the process like pulling teeth for them, asking them to let you out at each step of the way. At some point they will cave.
