You haven't learned about yourself or others. It is a skill. Some people it seems natural or maybe they had better exposure and training in childhood. You probably got hurt emotionally or lack of experience and have some work to do to figure it out.

It's not easy communicating, understanding, getting along with, etc.. It takes effort.

So start by engaging, observing, and paying attention to your feelings/emotions. You'll figure it out in time if you are so inclined.
