It’s upsetting but what can you do? I wish women were more honest up front and just say they aren’t interested. Sometimes it’s the truth and the right person comes along for them but more times than not it’s a lie because they’re afraid of the man’s reaction. Also it’s incredibly demoralizing and condescending when women lie to you as if you can’t handle someone not being interested. My reaction to women saying this now is “cool, good luck” and then I deal with the discomfort. What else can one do?
what if she went out with you on the date and then told you that? But what if she also checks in on you afterwards?
This happened to me recently and I told her to not spare my feelings, and that “I’m a big boy” and just experiencing that sort of treatment lead me to believe she’s not very thoughtful and she’s a people pleaser.
Lastly I wouldn’t want her to check in on me, that’s strange behavior. If she has no interest in me I’d want her to leave me alone, checking in doesn’t help anyone.
Okay.. so I’m the girl in this situation. I went out with a guy but I wasn’t in the headspace to date. We stayed in touch on and off.. but I really want to see him again
I’m honestly not sure what the best course of action is. Did you say you weren’t on dating apps? I’d only reach out to him with the intention of inviting him on a date probably. Most of all I’d just be honest, it shows you respect their time.
