Most young men are single. Most young women are not?

More than 60 percent of young men are single, nearly twice the rate of unattached young women, signaling a larger breakdown in the social, romantic and sexual life of the American male.

Men in their 20s are more likely than women in their 20s to be romantically uninvolved, sexually dormant, friendless and lonely. They stand at the vanguard of an epidemic of declining marriage, sexuality and relationships that afflicts all of young America.

The article also states that bisexual women make up a large share of the young-adult queer community.

Thoughts on this? and what causes young men to be single and young women not to be single?

Bisexual or homosexual people (women imcluded) are actualy a very tiny percentage of the population. I doubt the single vs taken numbers are accurate, but if they are, it's because there are far more men than women in the area's population.

I have noticed that in my area, I see about 20 men for every woman I see.

The implication of this story that people don't seem to want to bring up is how it frame men's and women's thoughts about what constitutes being in a relationship. Women overstate their connections with men, men understate their connections with women.

Young women are choosing to be with older men who offer something other than being weak, whiney, and feminine. Every single one of the men I know who are my age and had any sort of husband material in them has been able to get married to the woman they wanted before hitting 23.

We always hear how guys in their 20', 30's, 40's and even 50's like women in their 20's, so shouldn't it be obvious that women in their 20's are less likely to be single since they have so many more pursuers per capita?

That's explains about a quarter of our forum's participants. Women are obviously dating the same guys over and over again. And a certain segment of males are becoming increasingly anti-social, bitter, angry, etc. because of it.

Mating is governed by 4 things:
1. The demand for what you offer
2. The quality of that offer
3. The difficulty there is in replacing you
4. Up-close access to people

This isn't really complicated. Some of them are dating older men and several are dating the same guy at once.

Plenty of gals today are fine with being side chicks it seems.

Tbh I did notice growing up only when I was in the highest possible grade for that school did I do really really well with females. When I was the lowest possible grade in that school ie 9th grade for high school, that's when I did the worst. But I also think a lot of people are probably just having sex with the same guys unknowingly

In ages 30-49 there is just 8% more men dating than women. Not enough to explain 29% more women dating in ages 18-29.
