Does anyone get sad when seeing couples?

I do because i see them together and i have never experienced something like that.

I do sometimes. It’s never worked out for me to get to an official relationship, so when i do see couples out in public i do get a little sad/jealous. But then i kinda just realize that there’s really nothing else i can do atp, I’ve listened to almost every bit of advice, worked on myself, got a job, went out on dates etc. and things just haven’t. I guess i just realized that some people are just not meant to be in one. And tragically it looks like im one of them. So i just go on about my day, doing things i enjoy so i don’t have to worry about it anymore.

And not every relationship you see is all sunshine and roses. Some people are being manipulated, verbally, physically, emotionally abused, cheated on etc. So while you can be sad at seeing what seems to be a nice relationship, It could actually be an horrible relationship behind closed doors.

That is your brain telling you to get off the couch and take action... e. g. time to make some changes.

It's going to be hard, lot to learn, suffering ahead, but great rewards are possible.

Note the fallacy in your mind: you have no idea what their real life is like, so don't idealize others. Jealousy is poison. Love, passion, hope, faith... those are good.

It started to happen now and then, though not for like the first 30 years of my life as single at least.. but now I know I am very different from other people, being in my thirties and never in a serious relationship.

I don't really get sad seeing strangers, but like at get-togethers with friends or family.. I remember once I was at a party and I realised at some point everyone had a partner but me.. there were maybe like 5 couples present, and I talked with the rest I did not know so well, and they also had partners at home.. I actually went to the bathroom for a while because I could feel I was about to cry in front of the others.

I do sometimes because I'm in a long distance relationship and can't be with him like how I see others together. My best friend for instance is always around her boyfriend and it irks me to death.

Before him, I had never experienced anything like that either and it bothered me even more then so I understand completely how you feel.

At least now I have a few memories of when we do get together even though their short lived memories.

When I and my ex broke up I wanted to beat up all the couples I met on streets.

Then I realized there’s no need, life will give everyone their fair share of lemons.

So, enjoy while it lasts, cause nothing lasts forever, not their happiness, not your loneliness.

No, on the contrary, I genuinely feel rather happy when I see a happy couple. Being single or not would never have a real influence in that field with me, because my personal situation has its own reasons to be, with no connection with other couples' motivations.

Yes, but then I remind myself what goes on behind closed doors. That she is most likely cheating on him. That I am much better off being single. Recently had another girl I was seeing run off with the guy she told me not to worry about. Just like my ex of almost 9 years ago

Why would I get sad? That's literally further increasing the neuron belief that I dont have something and can't have it. I have self-discipline. As I'm talking my mentor is saying, "why would people talk about results they don't want and get emotional about them."

You should have no reason to object when I say you’re not missing out on a whole lot. People these days treat relationships like chores and a game. Everything is fake and forced and they do not understand what love truly is or how it really feels. Soon enough and believe me, romantic relationships and jobs will be just as synonymous as McDonald’s and burgers.

Its bittersweet for me.

It makes me happy to see them happy. Makes me smile. But inside I wish I had the same.

But I take comfort in the fact that I know I'll find someone in the future. Now is not the time, nor the place.
