Because they haven't caught on to the idea that they're not the perfect little goddesses they think they are.
They think they're the hottest shit that ever walked the earth and people should bow and kiss their feet.
This makes them so incredibly difficult to be around, that the only male attention they get is from guys who just want a piece of ass.

We are all human. I don't care how smooth your hair is and how tight your ass is, it still snells like shit and that hair will turn gray. We're all equally disgusting, and one day humility will slap you in the fucking face so hard you'll forget your own name

Probably a combination of 1. guys (and other women, too) assuming that they MUST be taken and never making a move, 2. letting themselves be pushed by their good looks into arrogance/artificially high standards, and 3. them not being willing to make moves themselves due to the aforementioned causes.

Is it lonelier to be beautiful than average? Maybe- potentially, at any rate. Is it lonelier to be beautiful than unattractive? Not a chance.

"Pretty people" often have to deal with being a commodity. This can be a lonely life as everyone wants eye candy and guys are very sophisticated. I know some that will not talk to Bankers, Brokers, CEO/CFOs, lawyers, or politicians at any level.

The majority of them would exchange their work and positioning in for Soccer Mom or for a straight-up reliable middle class man. Guys like that never ask them out though but they will make all kinds of judgments.
