anyways what i mean is whenever i see girls list their physical standards they like in a guy one of them is usually 'i like the guy to be taller than me'.

so that is 'taller' which is not the same as 'tall'. therefore if she's like 5'1 and the guy is 5'4 he's good.

What are you talking about... 6'2" is REALLY tall, almost ridiculously tall. I'm saying this as a 5'2" myself who has dated someone that tall. Not that it's a dealbreaker, but it is overrated.

It's true most girls want a guy to be taller than them, but it's also true that they prefer the guy to be taller vs. shorter. That is to say, if a 5'1" girl has two guys who are in all respects the same but one of them is 5'8" and the other is 5'10", she's more likely to go for the 5'10" guy. And it follows she's even more likely to go for the 6'0" over both of those. I think there is some cap waaaaaaay up there like a 5'1" girl might decide a guy that is 6'4" is just "too tall", but I think the tolerance goes much farther for tall guys than short guys.

I would even hypothesize a 5'0" girl could find a 5'4" guy to be 'too short', even though he's several inches taller than she is.

Of course, not all girls are going to think the exact same way, and I honestly think short guys obsess over their own height much more than girls care about it. If there was a correlation, it would be like flat chested girls who stress about having flat chest or smaller boobs when really okay, maybe a lot of guys prefer a healthy handful, but it's not really a dealbreaker if the rest of the girl is amazing it's not even a consideration.

This is assuming all things are the same between them except the height. i doubt she'd go for the 5'10 guy who is a huge insecure asshole vs the 5'8 guy who is more confident in himself.

I've seen women be with guys of all sizes. i feel like dudes just focus on this one thing farrr too often when the thing thats really turning girls off id their bad attitude about it.

My biggest issues with most of the shorter guys I've encountered - is their own insecurities about being shorter. Myself, I don't care if my partner is shorter or taller than me - my late fiance was shorter than me.

I myself as a minion (153 cm, guess 5'0-'1) wouldn't prefer to date someone tall. Ideally I like a man around 165 - 175 cm (Guess that's 5'5-5'7ish).

Fun side story: I was once meeting up with a man and we hadn't talked about height before and he was like 190cm-ish (I guess 6'1ish) and we both looked at each other, started laughing and both agreed this isn't going to work alone for the height difference. I was too short for him and he was too tall. We still had dinner and a fun night as friends, talking about stupid date experiences and afterwards never saw each other again haha

Yes, taller guys are preferred. Most guys already are given that I'm 5'2". I'd say my ideal height range is between 5'7" and 5'9", but I've definitely been with guys outside of that height range, in fact I have dated only one person in that height range lol, others have been taller or shorter than that.

For me I find that when someone asks a question “ What’s your type” we construct a list base on fantasy. Love is the most unpredictable force out there. So it doesn’t matter if a person says he has to be 6ft & up, blue or brown eyes because love strikes & catches you off guard. Yes, as a five"4 woman, as long as a guy is at least a few inches taller than me, that's all fine. Literally, the only cute guy I've seen around where I live is about 5"8, 5"10 at most, but he takes good care of himself and is more attractive to me than lots of the 6"+ dudes.

I need a nice height difference when dating someone. I'm 5'2 or 158cm tall, that's quite short especially in my country, the average for women here is 168cm and for men 180cm. I prefer my man to be between 175-195cm tall with 180 being the ideal, most comfortable option too.

I don't think it makes me picky because it's the average height for men here.
