Girls, Why didn’t she tell me she has a boyfriend when I asked her out?

So last month I asked a classmate of mine out for a coffee date. She texted me back the next day saying “she graduated from school and is at home lol”. So I thought about it for a few days then texted her asking if “she lived out of state because I live in etc.” She saw the text the next day but didn’t reply so I took it as she’s not interested. However a month later just a couple of days ago before my bday, i stumbled across her account on social media and her latest video is her going to the movies holding hands with her boyfriend. I was shocked because she didn’t tell me she was in a relationship when I asked her out. Because as far as I know girls would either directly or indirectly mention they’re dating someone but this girl didn’t. Why didn’t she tell me straight up she had a boyfriend already?

I’m not entitled I’m just shocked and hoping I can get an understanding from a girls perspective. Because she was implying that if she was still in school that we could’ve got coffee together despite being in a relationship. Also wouldn’t it be more convenient to say “Sorry but i have a boyfriend and I graduated from school already”?
