Why would she not tell me she has a boyfriend?

I've been talking to this girl for months and it seems like we both like each other more than friends. She has told me about her exes and stuff they have done to her, but has failed to mention to me that she has a boyfriend.

Best case scenario is that she's keeping you on the back burner as her spare boyfriend. You'll get all the emotional turmoil and none of her intimacy.

Worst case scenario is that you are so hella friendzoned that she didn't even see the point of telling you about her boyfriend because in her mind, there was never any possibility of things heading in that direction.

I don't really think thats necessarily true bc when we first met, we were hanging out with a group of mutual friends who had introduced us. We were standing in line for food (she was standing next to me) and she offered to take my coat from me, she took it, sat down at a table, and put it on the seat next to her. Then, she asked me how my food was and I hadn't tried it yet (I had legit just sat down) and she said to try it for her to make sure it was 'yummy'.

... My dude, if you take a step back and look at that from another perspective, none of what you just described is even remotely romantic. She took your jacket to the table out of basic courtesy, and asking you how your food is was a very normal conversation starter.

She is an attention whore. She will do anything for attention to feel validation. Including leading people on.

Maybe. But, she texts me a lot saying that she misses me a lot (I moved away) and that once I come back, she hopes I do bc she would "love to see me."

No. One day when I was trying to get enough courage to actually confess to her that I like her back (her friends have told me I have a good chance of her saying yes if I asked her out - but that was months ago.) I asked her for her insta (a couple months before this, she told me to give her my snap and I did and she'd send me selfies.) She said "yes I don't really post but of course. It's just my name." Then proceeded to give me her account name. So, I find it and follow her and she never followed me back, so I wait a few days. Then, I may have stalked her vsco. The night before, she had posted with some dude who I never heard of. Then for the next couple of weeks, she posts with him kissing her cheek and them hanging out and random texts he sends her. So, I've just kept our convos casual and not brought it up.
