Does he actually like me? How do I ask him?

I went on 3 dates with a guy a couple months ago, we got on really well and he kissed me on the second date. After a few days he stopped messaging me, so I asked if he was okay, he told me he was in contact with another girl. I was a bit disappointed but I knew that I couldn’t say anything about it. We then didn’t talk for a few weeks and now recently he’s been getting back in contact and is messaging me very randomly. I don’t know what to say to him. I have tried to forget about him but he’s making it very hard for me but I really don’t understand what his intentions are. I should probably just ask him but I don’t know how! Any advice would be greatly appreciated ☺️

You should've realized when he tossed you to the curb when he started talking to another girl, he clearly mentioned he was talking to someone else, the reason he told you seems like he wanted you to know so you stop bothering him, or else he wouldn't have said anything if he was still on the talking stage, seems to me like he made up his mind on who he wanted when he told you that, something must have happened between him and the other girl if all of a sudden he is giving you the attention.
