I have a cat friend - you don't own cats nor for that matter do you own dogs. You aren't entitled to anything because you paid cash money for your pet. Instead you build a relationship with them.

Girls do seem to favor dogs - I think because they are easier and less effort to build a relationship with.

I have a cat because I think it is unfair to a dog to have one in a city apartment and I don't like toy sized dogs.

Some girls seem to think it is odd to have a cat and maybe consider a man less dateable because of that. I tend to think anyone who doesn't like social animals, are a bit strange and not good partner material.

I've had dogs, and I've had cats... and I've been a long time without both pets as well

and it made no difference

at least in my case, I have not met someone that saw that as a significant factor and priority, to be a pet owner or not but if anything... people have been more on the positive side about me having pets
