So teeechnically enamored comes from in-amor, which is basically an adaptation of French that means literally in love.

Being enamored is literally translated into being in love.

Contextually on how the word is actually used it is more of a emotional fascination with someone. Which I would still consider closer to love but not quite the same. You can be enamored by your idol without being in love with them.
