Should I wait til im older to try and date?

I'm 26 and have never had any success in the dating world. a lot of men my age are struggling in the same area but I've noticed that older men 30 and up tend to do a lot better in the dating world. If im not having any success right now, should i just focus on my job, making money and other goals right now and then try to date later on?
