He has placed you on a pedestal based on your looks. This simp behavior is very common and often comes from poor relationship with a father, lack of a father figure or just desperation. It's not that he's trying too hard, he's just too desperate and would be exactly the same for any other woman that looked a certain way. He's probably not on his purpose too.
