I mean what's more important is if you find him uncomfortable to talk to, otherwise I'm not seeing a big issue beyond a single instance of double texting. Not sure why he did that but it didn't seem to be too needy or whatever since he was pushing a conversation rather than pushing for attention. But seriously, what more important is that if he's not your style or seems like too much for you then take that at face value, let him know, and move on.
