Girls, Why is she generally distant suddenly?

So I know this girl who had a boyfriend and one day she started snapping me and we talked a lot and had good conversations together over the next month. She also sent very revealing pics almost daily. Now she broke up with her boyfriend as their relationship was very bad. So since she broke up she sometimes sends snaps where she clearly cried but says she is fine and acts very distant. Only commits to conversations once a week. Why is she keeping distance from me at this point. She would also often ask questions and she rarely does over the past couple weeks that she has been broken up.

Sidenote: we know each other irl and we talk a lot and she comes to me in group settings often.

Should I just give her time? This is what I’m doing now and I’m patient with her. Or should I do something else?

Distant: she is short in her answers often (not uninterested short, but shorter than usual), she takes longer to respond and often ignores me for a while.

A girl that is underage and that sends revealing pictures to other minors while in a relation is a big red flag in the entire civilized world and indicates that this girl has very loose morals.

The fact that she broke up with her boyfriend can only suppose that either

1. the boyfriend found out that she is a very unserious child and sends doubtful pictures to other males while in a relationship.

2. she had an argument with her boyfriend and they decided to stop the relationship

3. they were simply not compatible or the one of the 2 was/is toxic

She may act distant because of the bad experience of her past relation and wants to keep a certain distance and needs time for herself.

You should give her the distance and time she needs and not try to speed up things.

I am curious why you are so interested in that girl. Is it because you want to take over her ex boyfriend's place or what motivates you to be interested in her?

To be fair, I’m not sure.
I want to stay in touch with her as I like a lot about her, might want a relationship with her one day but this obviously is not the moment and I wouldn’t want it that quickly after her breakup myself. Her boyfriend cheated that’s what it was.

If her boyfriend cheated on her, then it is understandable that she wants some time out. Respect her decision but keep in contact with her once a week just to see how she is doing.
