How do I approach women without coming off as weird, creepy or predatory?

First question here.

I've been single for a while and have just moved to a new town and would like to get back into dating, but I don't really know how to approach or talk to women without coming off as weird, creepy or predatory.

Im socially awkward with people in general and I often unintentionally scare and/or intimidate people because I'm very tall.

I also have no friends or family here to help or guide me, I'm completely alone here.

I was wondering if I could get some tips and advice to help me out...

The best advice I can give is to search around in your local area for clubs or activity groups that you have an interest in. Join one you like. You will meet people that enjoy the same thing you do, including girls. Even if you don't meet a girl, you might meet some guys that you become friends with that could introduce you to girls they know.

Possibilities are endless. At least if you are doing some activity that you like, it will be easier to break the ice because you will share a common interest with others in the group.

I had a friend meet her (now) boyfriend this way. Granted, we live in a big city with lots of options, but it worked all the same. She joined this cooking group that would meet up every two weeks and have a chef do a cooking class. They paired participants of the group. She was paired with this guy and they hit it off. They didn't know each other at all but shared that common passion for cooking. Just an example.

I'm very tall (6'6) and my height scares and intimidates people and I was never taught how to approach or talk to girls by anyone.
I was neglected by my parents and older sibling growing up, so I wasn't raised or taught how to be social, that and I was bullied a lot when I was a teenager, which pretty much shattered whatever confidense, self-esteem and self-worth that I had into a million pieces.

Not sure what height has to do with it unless you are insecure about it. I am super short but doesn't bother me one bit. At just over 5' tall, I am almost a full foot shorter than my husband. We make it work.

As far as the rest of what you said, I get that you have some issues because of the past. My suggestion is still viable one since you can ease into an activity that you enjoy. Don't go into it with the mindset of "I have to find a girl" but rather "I am going to do something I enjoy".

People view taller people as scarier and more intimidating, shorter people are often viewed as more friendly and approachable.
There're not many clubs or activity groups in this town, and I'm there are, they focus on things I'm not interested in or are for children.

Sounds like an exact copy of my life at 51. The best thing I can tell you is get a gym membership. One of the larger chains with the most people possible. The best thing to battle depression is regular excercise. You will be around and get more comfortable with people and at the same time live a healthy lifestyle. Don't give up because eventually your height along with weight training will make more desirable to women naturally. Look up Active and fit Direct. I have passed the age where I can responsibly have children but you have not so start doing it asap.

"creepy" and "predatory" is entirely subjective and ugly people tend to be creepy by default of the Halo Effect/Devil Effect

of course there are those who will virtue signal that "personality" not "looks" makes someone creepy yet whenever an ugly guy happens to be with a hot women or an older man happens to be with a younger woman, people call the man "creepy" despite not knowing his personality. if creepiness is about personality, why would someone's superficial factors make them creepy?

you have to repair the inner emotional person. That is what girls are reading... what emotions you are projecting. that person needs to be confident and in my view, giving from their heart, then they will respond. ideally, you project your positive commanding "man" inside, not the nervous..."I need you to accept and love me" child.

you can study those whom are successful, read books, practice, practice in front of hte meirror, meditate, find God, etc.. there's many ways.

Are you in shape, do you take care of yourself? Do you have good social skills? Are you financially stable? Do you have a car and your own place? These things matter a lot to women and if you're lacking in a lot of these areas, you should hold on approaching women and work on those things first. Women aren't going anywhere man. Focus on you right now
