It means he has a "type." If said girl is "just like you" it just means he has a preference or is drawn to women that look and/or act like you.

That can be a compliment or insult depending on your perspective. An insult, in that, "Why is he dating someone like me, but not me?" Said woman might have some trait that he didn't see in you... who knows.

I know how you feel; I do. Years ago, there was a guy I had a crush on, and the feeling was mutual- but he refused to date me. But we remained casual friends that spoke occasionally. A few years later, he married a woman that, and he said these exact words to me, "You would love her, she's just like you!"

As a friendly disclaimer guys: NEVER tell a woman that you rejected or broke up with that you are dating/marrying a woman just like said woman. That's an insult to what little self confidence we have.
