Do you guys believe that social media is mindless?

I noticed a guy I've been talking to has recently taken his time in responding to my texts but I do see that he's active on social media like instagram. I was listening to a podcast that was talking about "texting in dating" and they mentioned that social media is mindless, is this true?

I feel a little anxious because obviously I like the guy and want to hear from him but I've been trying my best not to take it personal when he's not replying back to me when I want him to and working on my anxious attachment

What social media does is it takes control over your mind. It becomes your environment from a mind standpoint. Physical environment does the same thing to your mind. The mind doesn't know the difference between what's physical and mental. It will react to a movie, thoughts, books just the same as it will react to physical reality.

Mind is activity or movement. Your mind is made up of the conscious and subconscious. The mind uses the body as an instrument. Remember the mind is not anything physical but simply activity; conscious activity & subconscious activity.

If you want to be less anxious you might try taking control over your mind. The mind doesn't know the difference between what's real or fake. This gives you the ability to take control over it.

Your guy lacks... He lacks alertness of interest for you. He lacks caution.
But media is powerful... Then again love is more powerful. That's why I prefer people who have a stronger desire for love. Otherwise they lack urgency and care.

by the way I don't know what you mean by mindless. Social media is a mental parasite. It has no mind but it can take control of yours.

Social media is a misused tool that only becomes mindless when you use it without thought.

I do this too with my friends and it’s genuinely because I forget lol.


But if you’re dating someone they should make an effort with you. I find it hard to believe that someone likes me and wants to be with me if they’re behaving that way. Usually you’d think when you like someone you’re trying to impress them.

I won’t say mindless, but it gives these delusional people the idea that they have a lot of options, when the truth is most of the people they connect to are useless and low quality. It just encourages narcissism behavior.

It depends on how you use it. For example, there is a ton of garbage on YouTube, which sadly is what most people watch. However, there is also some excellent music, documentaries, interviews and other entertainment to enjoy.
