How do you attract girls? What are the first steps?

I have never been that great at reading women, or knowing how to approach them.

First thing: Be yourself! - don't try to be some showoff ass that is not even you. Just be your natural self, if she doesn't like that, then she's obviously not a good fit.

Second: Make her smile - If you have a sense of humor, share it, women like a guy that can make them laugh/smile. You don't have to be card all the time as that can be annoying but pick your moments and use clever/witty humor.

Third: Notice what she likes - if you can determine what she likes, it can be a conversation starter. For instance, if you see her reading, you can ask what books she likes. If you see her reading something you've read, you can ask her if she's liking it so far... try not to ruin it for though. If you have not read it, ask her if it's something worthwhile reading.

Fourth: Ask her opinion about things. Girls like when you ask for their opinion out of the blue. It works great in clothing stores. If the sales clerk is a cutie, try something on and ask her opinion. You can also use it in a restaurant and ask what she recommends. It gives you that opportunity/opening to ask her about other things and get to know her.

Step 1) observe what they do, not what they say because actions speak louder than words

Step 2) be as physically attractive as possible. this will fix many of the issues you may have later on down the road. read up studies on the Halo Effect/Devil Effect

Step 3) stand up for yourself and your beliefs. maintain integrity.

it's better to be the dude that gets approached than the dude who has do the approaching but requires you to pass a certain threshold
