Is it kinder to ghost and block someone and let them think they’re better off without you than to tell them you’re not interested?

I just did it with some ugly guys last week. I wasn’t attracted to them and we had nothing in common. I thought it’s better to let them think I’m bad and they’re better off without me than to tell them why I’m not interested (they’re boring, desperate and ugly). Is that correct?
