Is there any point of dating in your teens?

Mention this to anyone in high school and they look at you like you are out of your damn mind. However, teenagers are SOOO locked into dating autopilot they fail to see the wisdom or logic in the following:

Dating is a skill. You must practice gaining proficiency in that skill. Young people are so wrapped up in seeking relationships, they rarely date anyone. IE, no practice.

Date for fun. Go out with lots of people. Don't worry about entering a relationship. Tell them you date only for fun and are not exclusive. Experiencing many different personalities and characters will give you a MUCH better understanding of what you want out of a significant other. The cool part it can all be done without being a slut or player. (Assuming you do not put out or lie.. or both) You will be perceived as more approachable, and more date requests will come your way. Friends will envy and or hate you for your success.

... and most of all... you will have a lot of fun. So to answer your question, Yes. Practice and learn.

The idea of going out and fucking everyone in school is a terrible idea. But getting into exclusive, infatuated relationships is normal and healthy. It how you learn, gain experience, grow up, and gain the wisdom to eventually recognize a person you can spend the rest of your life with in marriage. You can't do that by chatting endlessly with people on-line.

I don't think it's a good idea. My dad knows somebody who married their teenage crush and they had a very toxic marriage lasting almost 40 years and then divorced. A marriage should not happen until you are fully developed and strong enough to walk away and be alone if things don't work out. Many people will abuse somebody not strong enough to walk away if they are not respected.

I think there are endless learning opportunities there you can use in future relationships. Just because high school relationships rarely lead to marriage doesn't mean they don't teach you about relationships which gives you a head start in future ones.

Sure, find somebody who wants you around. Who isn't just trying to get in your pants, isn't always getting wasted on drugs or alcohol, and doesn't go out and do stupid shit that will get you in trouble with the law or kicked out of your house. You'll be fine.

I didn't date in my teens or 20s for that matter but I wish I had. I hate that I'm a late bloomer because there are a lot of things I'm learning in a relationship now that I should have learned a long time ago.

I don't know, but what I do know is that in teen years it's mostly all physical so I guess it would all depend what you are seeking for in dating at the time
