I guess it's normal if that's the way you want it to be I don't know what normal is but I do know this until you experience a moment of sensual passion desire touch becoming one with somebody you won't understand why you really don't want to be single or maybe you will I don't know but I think it's kind of like when you first started walking you would fall down you would get back up you would call down you'd get back up you would keep going until you mastered it you experienced experience after experience and that's what kept you going forward it's the same thing with love or a relationship maybe don't want to fall down maybe that's what you're saying but when you do fall down it's how you get back up that makes you badass it's your rules it's your body it's your heart it's your soul it's you so you make the rules

what's the reason? I'd bet $ your childhood references for relationships was not good.

So normal for you yes, normal for humans... no. Something is messed up that needs fixing and is highly likely to be avoided if not actively examined.

It's possible you have another calling in life, but if that was the case, you wouldn't be asking this question.

yeah, anything with regards to wanting or not wanting to be single can be “normal”, it varies wildly from person to person.

I was a confirmed bachelor at 32 when my then-future wife entered my life.

We've been married 30 years now.

I still long for my freedom, but in the long run, I might be better off being hitched.

Still, sure, it's normal to want to be alone.

It depends on the motivation. I mean I've remained single for most of my life simply because it's easier being single. There's nothing wrong with it as long as you can honestly say you're doing by personal choice and not because of some underlying factor. Not saying that's wrong either, just not healthy. Ignoring problems will not make them go away.

It's common enough. No one gets a vote besides you. Why do you want to be single? There's nothing wrong with wanting it, but some people want to remain single because they don't believe any relationship could ever work.

Sounds like a rut. Take advantage and embrace this listlessness. Meet new people, especially the kind you want to date. Again without the intent of dating them. You are on recon duty here. Learn which kinds you like, learn the confidence and erase the nervousness.

Yes. Seems like in our 20s we are learning about who we are and don’t have to force a relationship. I’m sure as we get past 25 or 28 life may look different

It's perfectly normal. Pop culture and social pressure has disparaged people for being alone or wanting to be alone... to the point where people are suicidal or homicidal because they think their lives have no value unless they are in a relationship... even if the relationship is abusive or dangerous.
