Kind of depends on your relationship. My SO and I have made jokes like that to eachother, but we are really close and we know that the other person is not serious. Also, neither of us is overweight.
But if you are not very close, you are not joking, and the person is actually overweight and/or self conscious about it, that is completely inappropriate.
This might be an unpopular opinion on here, but in my opinion it is okay to be concerned about your SOs health and weight as long as it's not toxic and abusive. Its also okay to talk to them about it, but that is definitely not the way to do it. Saying it like that will probably get you dumped and possibly assaulted 🤣
The ''fatty'' part was weird, that's a disrespectful word. But aside that, he's just telling you to not eat that much junk food.
