Let's say you're a few months into the relationship and things are going well and one day your boyfriend gets you a stun gun as a present. I'm not talking holiday or birthday I'm referring to a "Just because I care" present. The reasoning is I feel better knowing people I care about are safe and I believe the best way to protect someone you love is to help them protect themselves and I can't be there 24/7 obviously but I feel like it's a good gift in its own way.

I don't know.. that seems kind of weird, like someone paranoid lol.
I have never had any issues with anyone in my life and don't usually think about something bad happening to me because most people don't get murdered or raped. Maybe if she works til night and gets home late it might be a decent gift but if not, it isn't really needed and seems weird.

I wonder how many women have been raped that thought the same thing. Even if the chances are low, I'm pretty sure those women wished they had one when it was happening.

Rape or murder doesn't scare me tho.. Since even if it happened it wouldn't effect me.. but say she has it in her bag and the guy rips her bag off and tosses it.. It wasn't much help then was it? What happens still would happen. A knife is a better option since it easily fits in a pocket.. but still isn't actually needed and probably wouldn't be taken unless she herself is scared. Get her a whistle its helpful but doesn't seem as weird.

There are stun guns you can get that have holsters including concealed ones that are comnfortable. Also in many cases the woman catches on part way through but it's often after they've been marked and cornered. Assuming she realizes she's being followed she would have ample time to grab it and get ready. I'm not saying it protects her completely and perfectly I'm saying it's better than her having nothing at all. If I was a woman and I was about to be raped I'd rather have a stun gun than fists.

Yeah but I know even if I was given one, I would keep it but I probably wouldn't carry it around with me because its honestly weird. I would buy it myself if I was that scared.. but if that is the gift you want to give her then go for it but don't expect her to love it lol.

Bad present, it’s illegal in my country. So even if the situation arises where I need that kind of protection, I can easily be charged for using that weapon.
