Why is he only a texting buddy?

I'm on dating apps and a guy I really like seems to wanna just be a texting buddy? Why does he not ask to meet if again, its a dating app. He should want to meet? We are hitting it off pretty well too?

He might be like how I was back in the day on dating sites/apps. Probably unsure of how to ask, or scared that if he asks then you're going to ghost him. There's no doubt in my mind that he wants to.

Some guys feel very uncertain of what to do on dating sites. I know I did when I used to use them. Because I'm so used to in-person conversations, reading body language, picking up on cues, etc., so dating sites feel very awkward for me since I really don't even know anything about the woman I'm talking to. And I always felt like I needed to try to say something super charismatic, humorous, sexy, etc. to keep a woman's attention, out of fear that she'll just ghost after a simple few back and forths.

So this guy you talk to might be the same. He could just be talking a lot out of nervousness and not sure how to ask you out.
