compromise ends at morals, values and beliefs. Friends are not able to be compromised on, it is who we are and if a partner finds their relationship hinges on it, they should soul search and decide if they can work with it or allow it to be a core stance that ends a relationship.

I don't think its ever a good idea to give up friends for a romantic partner. Sometimes the people who ask that are abusers who are trying to isolate their victims
