That makes a lot of sense actually.

My guess is twofold: he probably didn't see anything wrong in your relationship (I'm not justifying him using you for sex, just offering perspective) and also it probably caught him by surprise. Add to that that blocking always feels way personal. It may be justified but it feels like a gut punch -- magnified if the person who is blocked has no idea it's coming or doesn't feel like it's warranted.

You have to do what's best for you. But I think those are some of the reasons he might be upset.
