I’m 26 nearly 27. Honestly I’d be happy to be single and a virgin forever and adore solitude. What age does it become embarrassing to never have been in a relationship or be a virgin as a female?
Im 25 and I’m not awkward, I am proud because my future husband can have all of me. Plus I’m a Christian, I believe sex is a very beautiful thing that should only be done with the person you value very much. I don’t want my body to be seen by any other men except my husband because my body is so precious and a treasure, oh my!! My future husband must feel so happy that he can have all of me 😭😁
The world shouldn’t normalise and glorify sleeping around but instead the society should glorify sexual purity for one’s future spouse.64 Reply- +1 y
PS. I’m more attracted to guys who are still virgins, I’ll be proud to have all of them, the first one to see their body.. the guys I’ve dated before were also Christian, we both wanted sex after marriage. We viewed sex as a serious and a beautiful thing between married couples. That’s nice!

You sound like such an amazing woman. I have never been in a relationship or had a real girlfriend. I lost my virginity 8 years ago during a weekend hookup and I haven't even so much kissed a woman since. She didn't want to pursue anything romantically afterwards. I am not the type that likes to have empty sex. I much rather have a woman like you. Just out of curiosity, have you ever had a boyfriend or first love before?
- +1 y
Thank you. Yes. My ex boyfriend said he wanted to wait until marriage. And when a man wanted to remain virgin until marriage, I felt safe and secure, that could mean he can stand the trial of sexual temptation, less likely to cheat. And also I feel proud, happy to be his first woman that he sees a naked body with excitement and expression, it feels like my husband is all mine, including his first time, his first excitement… etc. isn’t it great and satisfying?

Being embarrassed about being a virgin is for school kids. And adults who never matured growing up. I’m 30 and still a virgin because I’m absolutely REFUSE to sleep with JUST anyone. I mean, y’all can sleep around but I don’t want to. I don’t need all those diseases people have no issue spreading around.

Well thank you very much and I think you're very cool and don't ever be embarrassed like I said you are a mentor you are somebody to look up to I wish I could have maybe done what you're doing sorry I had my fingers crossed there's no way and that's just because when two people become one it is the most beautiful feeling you will ever feel in your life but you don't have to lose your virginity to feel that either like I said I think you're very cool
Asker+1 ySo kind and thanks for the idea of what it may feel like too
16.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. If that is what you want, why would it be embarassing? It should only be embarassing if you're a virgin and making a fool of yourself trying to lose it, which definitely isn't the case here.

+1 yIn a perfect world, you should never be embarrassed as to when you decided to lose your virginity, or not in your case. And as various forms of sexuality become more and more accepted, maybe you would identify with individuals who are asexual or aromantic, or both. And if you do feel awkward about saying you're a virgin, maybe you could just say you're asexual/aromantic. And at the end of the day, no one really needs to know your a virgin, it really isn't any of their business, unless you choose to share with them.

+1 yIt shouldn't be embarrassing at all at any age. Other adults might have their own opinion though. I mean, I'm 24 and being a virgin at this age will be no different at any other age. I just think it means that it'll feel more special to me when I have my first relationship and stuff.

@SouthernWhiteMan I've had crushes, but never had a partner.
+1 yshouldn't matter. Your not hurting anyone. Be happy with whatever you want to do in life. Stay away from those who make you feel bad for something you choose to do that isn't negatively effecting anyone else.

+1 yI grew up in a small town, and everyone did (still does) know you has slept with who. It was a conservative area so there was shame in having sex before marriage. But reality was all my classmates had lost their virginity before graduation and you felt out of the girl talk if you were a senior and still a virgin. So pressure on both sides. I played a bit and dated, but didn't lose my virginity until summer after graduation so was maybe the only one left.

+1 yIt should never be awkward to say that at any age, no matter what your age is. Some people are immature and may make virgins feel awkward, but they should not. And honestly, there should not be a need to talk about if you are a virgin or not, or at least, not in usual conversation.
10 Reply Generally never, holding your virginity brings a lot of value to the dating market place.
But living in solitude is kinda a sign for a damaged human.

1.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. Awkward? Definitely your 30s. People are pretty much adults after 25. Just because you choose to abstain doesn't mean it's not awkward. Doesn't matter if it's personal preference or religion, it's weird to never have had sex late in adulthood. Anyone that says otherwise is either weird, ignorant or just being nice.

+1 yI don't understand why saving sex for someone special would be embarrassing?
Asker+1 yYou are so non judgmental and wise thank you
- +1 y
Maybe because after a while it doesn't look like you're "saving sex for someone special" so much as "unfit for intimacy".
Humans typical breeding ages are teens and 20s, up into 30s but even that is a bit late. There comes a point where your sexual prime is over, and if you didn't have any sex during that time, it's a bit of a fail.
Asker+1 y@zeitgeist057 I’m 26 so don’t know if my prime over yet
- +1 y
@asker, it's also totally okay to be a virgin/celibate your whole life. It's more about the "breeders" who are running strong with hormones and horny during those years, the peak fertility years. Wanting to be single and enjoying your solitude as you say, then coupling up doesn't really have a place for you, unless you have a drive for it or to have it as a source of physical pleasure. I have a former lover who is kind of like you in that she says she likes to be alone, but she also is a very sexually charged person (at least when we are together). I thought it a shame that she's not having sex, but she seems okay with just pleasuring herself and reading erotica.
Asker+1 y@zeitgeist057 that sounds just like me! I’m 26 probably in my prime but then I’m happy with solitude and being a virgin and alone. I could get sex if I wanted so I don’t really know what to do. Sex carries risks too
- +1 y
Yeah true, there's pregnancy and STIs. It sounds like you don't really care to have sex, but then also since you haven't had it, you don't really know what you're missing. But even that is a spectrum, because there is terrible sex and amazing sex and everywhere in between. So you could go lose your virginity to find out, and have it be terrible then swear off sex forever and maybe even be pissed you tried it. Or have amazing sex and then you've got a new problem that you actually want more. So I don't know, lol. Maybe you're best to just keep your status quo. I don't really know anything about you and what your life is like or what you want out of life, to make any calls or recommendations like that for you.
Asker+1 y@zeitgeist057 my status quo haha! I don’t know i guess it’s to go with flow and to be able to differentiate those that just want sex and those that want more. I’d never just have a sexual relationship
- +1 y
funny you put it like that, because I prefer "more", but I have no problem with sex as a starting point, and for a while in my teens and 20s sex was just an easy way for me to try to get to know a woman better. I felt like if we had sex right off, then we broke down a lot of barriers quickly and could be more intimate. So I never shied away from the potential "one night stands", and while there were plenty that didn't go anywhere, I also had a lot of really amazing deep connections that started from acting on a initial physical attraction.
Asker+1 y@zeitgeist057 great insight thanks
- +1 y
anytime. Honestly, if you're happy as you are, I don't know that you want to mess with it. I love romantic relationships, but there has also been a lot of heartache and stress along the way. For me, I don't mind because I think stress helps us grow so I embrace all of it, the joy and pain. But I can also see for some people just keeping it simple works. Best of luck to you ! :)
Asker+1 y@zeitgeist057 thank you and you!

+1 yPass the age of 25 I would say is kinda awkward and embarrassing to still be a virgin.
I'm not saying being a virgin is inherently bad but once you are pass a certain age being a virgin loses its appeal unless you are a religious monk or in your case you purposely desire to be single for the rest of your life.02 Reply
Asker+1 yYou mean 26 onwards or 25 onwards
- +1 y
Pass the age of 25. The reality is it will be weird to be a virgin at the age or viewed that way by most people unless like I mentioned a deeply religious person or a person that doesn't desire to date because it will tell others that person desires to date and have sex but they have repelled every single person or that no one desires them so that's why I said it will be awkward and embarrassing.
+1 yI'm 28 in 2 days and I'm still a virgin, and to be honest with you, I've never had my first girlfriend, my first date or even my first kiss, so I know exactly where your coming from.

4.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. You’re getting to it. But ironically you shouldn’t be focusing on it. Just date people and soon you’ll be spending romantic time with only one person which will lead to sex. No need to even tell him you’re a V if you don’t want to. Or at least not at first. Shouldn’t care. But the guys that do are pervy.
