I feel kinda offended, but not sure if I should be? Also, even after telling him I was planning on surprising him, he continued to say this is what he wants to do.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but you have to remember it’s his day, not yours. You could always surprise him with a party or something where his friends can be included, or whatever works for you, but you shouldn’t be mad that he wants to include his friends on his bday, that is just selfish. No offense.

I personally think he should be a little flexible. But, at the end of the day, it's his life and it's his birthday.

True. I’m trying to not be offended, I was planning on going on all for him. But then he says he wants to spend it with friends. So it kinda hurts.
