Guys, Birthdays when you aren't exclusive or official?

Iv been seeing a guy for a while now and come his birthday itll be around 4 months…. this has been a slow burner we aren't official yet feel after this amount of time he should be thinking of heading that way? Would he still be around this long if he wasn't?

Is it weird to get him a gift or weird not to get him a gift? Very scared of scaring him off iv a pending divorce and a 2 year old daughter I dont want to make him feel pressured as im sure a guy would think that was a lot to take on?
