Why did I lose attraction to younger men?

Okay… So I am confused. I always liked younger men. Almost exclusively with very few exceptions

Mostly younger than me or same age or a little bit older and I always thought - if my ex fiancé (1.5 years older than me) and I ever broke up, I would go for younger guys.

Now though after break up, I made a realization that I totally changed, I no longer feel any attraction or romantic interest to younger men. I don’t know what happened to me, how could a past year change me so much?

Might it be that since my relationship with relatively younger man ended badly, now I lost interest in all of them?

I am really surprised.

I feel like I am a new person.

Its a pretty logical decision and one that is not uncommon at your stage in life , younger guys in essence will head straight for " the prize " and often their thinking is extremely short term , my daughter has now been with an older man for quite some time , I can see after all these years , she is much happier , he is a great guy a European guy ( Denmark ) and the moment I met him I could see why she likes him so much..

Then there is the business /career element of it , just such a better match , emotionally , mentally , sexually.

She is now 34 , but she started the relationship at 27 years when she first started working in Denmark , she was born in Australia.

Over time, we may change... our tastes in food, political ideals, fashion sense. There isn't always a reason why things change, they just do. It's important to accept change as a normal part of living, and enjoy it.

As you get older it's possible that younger men start to become more and more immature to you. They also start to look like kids. It's weird trust me lol. When I was in my early 30s I started noticing how young 21 year olds looked. Then at 40, I was like oh crap that now they look like babies. You also start to have less in common as you get older. Honestly only you can answer the question why. If you had to guess what has changed and caused this, what would that be?

And I was 22-26

When he broke up with me, he has mentioned wanting to explore more because I was his first girlfriend.

He also had a type I didn’t necessarily fit into, he liked tall, lean girls and I was foot shorter than him and curvy. I think he got blinded by the superficial things and forgot that what we had was beautiful. He always told me I was perfect and if he ever married he’d only want to be married to me.

But at that point he earned more money, got interest of more and more girls now that he had a hit more money and forgot all the promises he ever gave me or the times when he proposed me. Or the times he swore to love me forever.

He told me he changed. That he did love me, but that he wants to explore more and that he thinks he’ll regret it someday but he wants to live and make mistakes.

I think this showed me that younger men are not trustworthy, you might help him build his fortune, build his self confidence, be his biggest support and he can just “change” and leave to explore more.

I don’t think older men are that superficial. I think they have explored enough. I expect them to know what they are looking for and won’t give up nice relationships with someone who loves them just for the sake of the next shiny thing. I don’t know these are just my thoughts.

Maybe you're starting to think about settling down and starting a family, and younger guys don't seem stable enough for that.

Or maybe you're turning into an old person, and you just want to hang around playing canasta and talking about the old days.

It's actually not uncommon for a women your age. Because you are originally looking for someone with similar life experiences. But because you're brain matures faster and because you want to be with a man who leads you well, you very quickly zero in on men who are more mature. And therefore older.
