Why do I keep attracting men younger than me?

A few weeks ago I was approached by a guy, leaving the train station. He asked about the flowers I was carrying and called me beautiful, he was handsome and a lot taller. We exchanged social medias, I watched him drive off in a gorgeous truck. But I went home and watched his story on insta, he was complaining about missing his (college) class. I’m 24 turns out he was 21, I would have pursued it if he wasn’t younger but that was a dealbreaker.

Today I was approached by another guy, who had been flirting with me on and off the last few weeks never met irl. He was a gentleman and very nice. Turns out he was also 21. I kind of hate getting my hopes up I really would like a relationship.

I guess I am wondering if there could be something I’m doing something wrong. I dress classy most the time, hair makeup always done. How do I attract people my age or at least stop being approached by people who are younger? Any advice?

Maybe you have a youthful appearance. Not something you should really complain about though, considering it may carry through the rest of your life.

Furthermore, that's only three years difference and who knows one of those 21 year old's could be mature for their age and you'd be a good match.

I suggest giving them a try, what could it hurt? Worst thing, you don't get along and things trail off, or best possible outcome, you meet a great young guy that treats you with respect and cares.

Is there a particular reason why you are looking for someone older? I don't think there's anyway to discourage younger without discouraging the same age or older when you're in public, though.

They are more established and (sometimes) more mature. I prefer 25-27+

That's a fair take. Dating profiles would make it easier... but that won't stop younger men from messaging and not everyone like to find a partner that way.

You'll just have to fend people off until you find what you're looking for.

You could try to frequent places with men in this age group? Well I guess the good news is that if men keep approaching you so frequently, sooner or later there will be someone in your preferred age group - hopefully also handsome and kind :) Good luck!

I don't know why, but for some strange reason an absurd number of women seem to think that physical beauty is like a rifle. Like you can aim it at precisely the guys you want to attract and hit them while missing all the troll dudes you don't care for.

It isn't. Beauty is much more like a hand grenade. You're going to hit everyone in the room.

Lol. You trippin. 3 years is nothing. Sounds like self sabotage to me. That's what belief systems do. But if you really want someone older... Just ask out guys yourself. That gives you full control. Highly doubt these guys even can tell the difference from 21 and 24. Who can?
