Anyone had something similar

Been speaking to this guy for 4 months we met a month ago and he's been down every weekend he drives 2 hours to get here so a 4 hr round trip unless he has his kids. He's never once let me down and he was ment to come this weekend he said he would but haven't heard anything since he's not been active I've not been blocked my messages are delivered just not read

Am I overthinking too much?

He's a genuine guy I don't think he would do this deliberately but it's been a week and a bit worried.

if you hadn't blocked a girl and she text you asking if you could just read her messages so she knows you're okay would you read it?

You mentioned kids and we are meant to assume he’s single. Considered he got back with her or never broken up? Have you been to his place?

Obviously, one should not jump into conclusion here, but I always believe when someone doesn’t respond back within 72 hours there are specific reasons behind it given that these days even if you dropped your phone, you could contact them through the net, social media, email etc.

As for your other question, I would respond back no matter the reason, and give explanation. If I can’t, I would let you know that I can’t and give me time to explain. I would never ghost you! But that’s just me…

I believe you overthink the entire issue. If this guy was very reliable till now and took it upon him to travel 4 hours back and forth.

You could try to contact him and ask if everything is okay because you are worried that he has not confirmed his travel plans. Show that you are concerned but don't look as if you are desperate. Hopefully that he has a valid reason not to contact you and to calm you. I presume that he is aware that you would worry if he does not contact you as he does usually.

Given that the weekend starts tomorrow, I would just send him a quick message. Good luck.

Give him a little time. Something might have happened. I had something similar and turned out they'd spent days in the hospital after a slip and fall in a store which knocked them unconscious. A story that made the news at the time.
