She has to be my friend for 3 years for me to even feel comfortable having a relationship with her. So your concern is very "alien" to me.

If she wasn't a friend, then thats the risky option. There would be no trust, no bond, and a much higher risk of being betrayed, cheated on, lied to, etc.

I never had female friends and even if did I would never have a crush as I am always cautious and alert. I would not want a relationship anyways so there is no question of anything happening.

Hence friendship will never be at risk.

I did and I am kind of regretting it, I want to make it work but part of me thinks that it would have been best to keep a pure friendship we seemed to have had a more natural interaction and less drama
