If you're a catfish you got me good. But mostly I know who the catfish are. Just because I don't call them out, doesn't mean I don't see them.

Nope, I see things like that instantly. If there's something fishy about the motives from the person..

Yes I was almost catfished by a Romance Scammer but he got no money from me. He tried really hard to keep asking me for my money. This is my story.
I am a Yelp Elite 2023 Status Reviewer for 5 years now. on the Yelp. com website. One day this man who I don't know he sent me a Friend's Request in my Messages Area. I accepted his Friend's Request. That is the biggest mistake I made from a stranger.
When I accepted his Friend's Request on my Yelp. com Personal Profile Page Account. This man his name is James he told me he just wants a friendship from me and nothing else. He is a liar and a manipulator type person. I told him the first day that I don't have time to meet anymore, and I don't have the time to talk on my Yelp. com account. Because I just go on Yelp to write my new reviews on business places and I post my photos on places I have experiences with. This man James said okay but he was lying through his teeth to me. Every day for the first 3 months he would send me these Good Morning messages like Hi my beautiful woman, how are you today? Stuff like that it is called Love Bombing their victims. Love Bombing mean to groom your target or victim this scammer did to me for a 6 months time period. The first three months James would say sweet words to me and it made feel good but at the same time in my mind I was really suspicious and I thought what does he want from me.
Then on the fourth and the fifth month he would be lying to me again he said he wants us to meet in person soon and then he told me he Loves Me and he wants to Marry Me. This was another big Lie he told me online through him text messaging me. I knew he was lying because we have never met in person and we never talked on our cell phones. On the sixth month finally, James started asking me for my money. James said his Credit Card was frozen and also his bank account was frozen too. I didn't believe James telling me his lies again. James asked me to go to Walmart and buy him a Google Gift Card or a Steam Gift Card and load the amount of $500 or in $1,000.00 and send him the scratch off the code on the back of this gift card and send him the code on this Google Chat App. I told James HELL NO! I am not giving him any of my money and I told him to buy his own gift cards because I am not going to use my money I don't have any extra money to give to him. I found out James is a scammer and a fake person. Anytime a stranger and someone you don't know is asking you for your money he is a scammer and a fake person. I also reported him to my local police station in my Oceanside, CA town. He is a jerk and he had a really bad attitude. But I was happy because He got NO MONEY from me.
Just 2 days ago I show up for a date and the girl is twice as fat as her pictures showed.
Granted she was super slim in her pics and irl she only was slightly overweight but you could also tell the profile pics where at least 7 years old so she looked older overall.
I did go on the date because we had a good vibe via text and she seemed like a nice girl but I definitely lost my motivation to push for something romantic with her.
This is one of 2 times I had this happen and both stories go the same wayYes but I knew right away because they were claiming to be "a good looking porn star" lol It's like why would he hit me up? and he is also married xD So I talked to him for a bit yet everything he told me was wrong.. he would say things but on the guys and his wife's social media there was different information so the person didn't even bother to actually look it up.. I stopped talking to him for a few months and he recently hit me up again.. I don't know why.. like I got nothing for him.. and if he actually wanted to meet, how would he when he isn't even the guy? I don't understand these people.. :D
LOL pretty much every day , some female profile is trying to cat fish me , I don’t fall for that shit what so ever , if someone makes excuses to not prove who they say they are to you , they are a catfish period , if someone is being real or honest with you , they will not hesitate to prove to you that they are who they say they are period. If a girl is flirting with me on social media and making advances at me I will ask her to video chat me so we can break the ice , if she can’t video chat me , she or he is lying through their asses period. I honestly feel bad for people that pretend to be someone they aren’t , it’s almost like they have a mental illness that they should honestly seek treatment for. If you can’t love who you are as a person , then you have some serious issues to get worked on , Go to a fucking counselor and get some help cuz that person is fucked in the head is how I look at it
Unfortunately yes. It happened twice during a rough stage of my life. The first time it took me a while to figure it out, the second was obvious due to the lack of intelligence by the actor. I never exposed myself financially or emotionally so it was mostly just a pain in the ass.
Yup. Happened a few months back. Long story short, the person and I talked everyday for two weeks. They sent me photos of who they supposedly were. I decided to run a reverse image search on the photos. The photos had been stolen from another person’s account. The kicker? Multiple scam artists used this guys’ photos in order to trick women. I blocked the person immediately.
I mean height wise yes. I thought Ol boy was taller than me but nah. We met up and we were both 5’1 😒
yes was addicted to it for a while. I know they are using someone else's pictures. People who get scammed like it. They don't get love at home and the catfish makes you feel loved. I learned they are Cartel run operations and 5 of them had the same IP address in Mountain View CA , A town where Google is located oddly, I believe these cartels make aaa book on people, what they like can afford etc.
Once, I think. A facebook user sent me top model pictures, but she was in the east of my country. I checked the pictures, and it was a russian top model, far away from my country. I became angry and bashed that person.
Nowadays, I'm not on any social network anymore, and I don't care about meeting people of Internet in real life.
Sometimes, I send money to people, but if they deserve it, like if they have an artistic project.
oh they tried, but it was extremely obvious. it was funny
Thankfully nope. I've never cat fished anyone either.
Tbh I kinda reverse catfish? Like I post pics that I think aren't my greatest so that hopefully in comparison, I'll look even better in RL on the first date 😜
I was naive, young and stupid.
And he lied about everything about himself.
I'm super embarrassed about what happened now. We'll, also back thenI’ve been been catfished before and I think the main reason is because I’ve never tried online dating.
But I also think I ask wayyy to many questions for me to get catfished.Yes.. all the time when I use to date, women would come out with pounds of makeup and “enhancement” then I would see them at the store or gym with less makeup.. and it would be trash. Sooo, yeah all the time
Several times, when I was a teenager, and during my early twenties, when been on the internet was the only thing I wanted to do, after college.
I never dropped in their games, except for one in particular, which had me down.
Nope, because I know that women won't approach a guy unless he's filthy rich. My ego isn't so out of whack like many ugly and broke dudes. I am well aware of girls who are in my league vs ones who aren't. The catfish are always drop dead gorgeous and have super model IG style filters. Those types of chicks would never approach me online unless they see me standing next to a Ferrari and a mansion.
I've had people attempt it, but none successfully. Two actually used pics of people I have met, which was hilarious to me so I played with them a bit.
Many years ago, "friend" tried to Make fun of me, manipulate me and others perception for that time particularly, tried to mold me in the certain way, anyway.
Yeah I think so because we chatted for a while and then I was blocked? Weird
I am presuming that it is referring to something else I've never knew it to mean anything other than an ugly bottom dwelling fish with wihskers
