The man I am dating offered to cook for me a dinner the next time we meet.

I love being cooked for,

I am awful at cooking, because I don’t have motivation.

I was thinking to start a cooking course to learn a thing or two about cooking.

I strive the most when I am in a competition and maybe I can compete with anyone during the course and somehow force myself to learn cooking.

But yeah… I find it amazing that he is willing to cook for me.

Even if it won’t taste good, I like the effort.

I grill something at least once a week, often twice a week, when my girl is able to come over (she hates to miss a grill night) and occasionally I will have other friends over and it's a bigger event.

The picture with the big cinder block grill is a big party that a friend puts on every year, and I usually run the grill with another guy and there's about 100-130 people. In addition to the meat you see there are also burgers and hot dogs, and there are a couple of tents with tables of salads, fruits, and other sides.

I don't think cooking a meal is necessarily sexy. It's just thoughtful and nice. They are making a special effort to impress you. A really fine meal is classy. And a person who can cook is special.

The event, itself, and the setting can be very romantic/sexy, though. You walk in, the room is dimly lit. Everything is elegant. The table is set with a table cloth, good dinner wear, candles, wine, flowers, and music. You sit down. He pours your wine, then serves delicious food that he prepared with skill and care especially for you. That can set an almost intoxicating mood.

Yeah, I think it's quite sexy if someone knows how to do it. I also love cooking myself and love to do it for other people. I've had dates where we decided to cook something together as well, it's just wholesome and a nice way to interact.

Before the towers came down I was a sous chef at a nice restaurant, so cooking for my date has long been one of the stronger tools in my repertoire. Unfortunately I can count on both hands with fingers left over the number of times someone has cooked for me on a date. Seems to be a diminishing capability in society now a days, and a large part of why there's no ring on my finger.

Wow nice! It’s my weak spot and the only thing that motivates me to learn cooking. When a man cooks for me, I get motivated to cook for him too, that’s how I learned few meals.

But generally I lack motivation because when the motivation for cooking is external instead of internal Joy, it’s not really something I look forward to do, unless it’s somehow connected to another joy, which would be making my future partner happy, that’s why I eant to start cooking courses

What I can do to put my effort in it other than eating? I mean he will cook a dinner for me and what do I do! I am very clueless about such things, okay, help with the dishes but what else?

Well you can't really. That's why you cook for him as well, and why I think the cooking class is a phenomenal idea. Everyone needs at least a dozen REALLY strong dishes for those emergency get togethers down the road. I gotta keep this short. Race today is a bit of a drive and we're about to get a crap ton of rain.

Last week's was a lot of fun. I went back to old ones 3 times and the one new one was kind of... undermanned. I got bad directions at a turn and ended up having to double back, so that was fun. It was a nice course though. The one this morning was oppressively muggy. A storm came in that I hoped would cool it down. It did about 10 degrees but it was still 88F and 90% humidity, which was extra fun since it was all hilly and I went with the heavy weight today. Did set a new PR though. The one tonight is only a 5k, but I think it's a 40minute drive, so that's rough. I'm hoping it will be much cooler, and then tomorrow's 10k is about 3 miles from my house, so that's a quick out and back, which helps because I have so much work to catch up on this weekend.

I used to hate cooking but I always loved to BBQ. When camping, I do all the cooking outdoors and food outside tastes so much better.

As I got older I started to cook and now do it on a regular basis. I research recipies that I think I would like and cook them. I have served up some nice gourmet meals and have never had one tournament out bad. Some taste better then others but they were all quite edible. I would print off the recipie and have started making my own favorites recipie binder.

I found it easy to follow and modify a recipie to suit my taste. My latest fovorite is an Appricot Glazed Smoked Chicken.

If you can read, you can cook. Start simple and it grows on you. As for cooking for a spouse, SO or a date, it is a fun way to show you care and pamper them in a special way. It has always been well received.

Another fun dating idea is cooking together. It can be very romantic.

I like feeding my woman good food. It's one of the reasons my wife married me. I love to cook and am pretty good at it. I do a lot of outdoor cooking on a grill and smoker, but most of my cooking is indoors. I'm pretty good with French and Italian cuisine, and sauces are a specialty. I'm really good with seasfood, too. Getting better at Mexican and Thai. My wife is starting to show interest in learning to cook, which is encouraging. She took the initiative and made stir fry last weekend, and it was actually not bad. Why do so few women know how to cook these days?

A man can cook and you don't? You are 26, what skills do you have? How do you even survive? I've cooked since I was 12, gradually improving and learning over time. But frankly cooking is super easy - take a recipe and do literally what's written. Ugh.. modern women can't do anything, but bragging about their degree. Learn cooking.
