Guys, what is your experience with tinder app?

So the other dat i was watching youtube and accidentally got video about modern dating and apps. So, i became interested and decided to experiment with tinder to see how dating has changed over time (last time i was dating someone was around 11 years ago). I installed an app and started swiping first 100 girls and then i've also paid for a weekly gold subscription just to have unlimited swipes and see who liked me. According to the results i've got within a week, i got 5 matches only. What's most interesting these matches were not genuine, because i would never swipe these girls right, they weren't that attractive to me. So i did that on purpose just for the sake of matching someone and at least start a conversation. In my tinder profile one of the photos i have is the one in my profile here as you can see i am quite ok looking guy. As a result - one girl blocked me because she decided i am a catfish after a short conversation (no idea a why), one never replied, and the other 3 barely held a conversation and just stopped texting me (lost interest or smth). It was not because i said something stupid, just regular starting conversation about them and city we live in, regular basic things. So what's your experience on tinder? I know girls receive like 100 messages from random guys and they don't have time and desire to reply everyone. But still, to me this is the worst app 80% of men can use to find matches. I would say using tinder for most men to date women is even harder than talking to them in real life. What's your opinion on that?

As said below, Tinder is only for sex. You won't seriously date someone there (what kind of guy would want to date a girl who's been doing the cock carroussel in there anyways?).

Also, still as said below : do not pay for subscriptions. Tinder, like most dating apps is rigged : the girls are the products, the guys are the customers.

They have an algorithm that will soon hide your profile if you don't have tons of likes from girls (less than 10% of the guys are drowning in matches there). Girls always have hundreds of matches, even if they are ugly or put no picture. But a guy doesn't. So basically you will have the normal algorithm boost when you create your account, then the algo will ghost you to make you pay. That's how Tinder is making money.

Tinder is only good if you are above average looking guy (7/10 minimum). If you are average or below average, you will have absolutely 0 match there cause your profile will be hidden ;)

Agree. I've exactly noticed what you described. Once its free account, you get matches, but you can't see them. This is how they force you to pay. Once you paid, they shadowban you unless you pay again for the platinum account or smth.

It works as a complex elo system. When you create your account, your elo is 0. Your tinder works normally. You are seen by girls, you can have matches.

Everytime a girl passes on you, you loose elo points. At some point, when your elo is low enough (and it's not hard at all to be low enough for a guy), the algorithm categorizes you as a paypig and you are shadowbanned unless you pay to set the elo back to normal.

Tinder is just for hookups, if that's what you want, and as you can see, it's not very productive (desirable women don't need to be on there). Do not pay for subscriptions on this app.

If you want to actually find a girlfriend, your chances are much better on Bumble. No need for a subscription there either.

Yes, i noticed subscription does not actually work. Its a money sucking app. I cancelled the subscription, it was only for the experiment just for the sake of curiosity.

Subscriptions work if you are a bit above average. Not enough pretty to get flooded with matches, but too pretty to have no match at all. When I was younger, I made the mistake to buy a subscription (not even Tinder gold) and the results were there, I had tons of matches.

Lol just checked bumble. Same thing as tinder, even probably worse. They utilise the same strategy - you don't see matches unless you pay, plus only girls can text you first. Plus, swipes are limited. Sometimes they show you the girl's photo that matched you and display like she has 24 hours to text you, basically alluding you to buy paid subscription (maybe its even a fake bot profile to force you pay). I think both apps are garbage and just suck money out of guys pockets. You pay for nothing, you pay for the chance which is somewhere over there.

Yes. Most guys tend to forget that the apps are not charity. They are businesses meant to make money. And their way to make money is to make paypigs pay. If guys stopped paying for those bullshit, maybe they would consider changing their economic business plan. But since they keep paying, why would they?

@artgorgeous: Women contacting you first usually isn't a problem and each day you can extend one woman 24 hours to contact you. You see matches, what you don't see is when the woman swiped right on you but you haven't yet seen her profile.

Now, if you don't have a college degree, you won't see as good profiles.

I never paid a cent on Bumble and met lots of women on there (including women in their 20s).
