I like someone but don't know what to do?

I like a guy since June. He doesn't know about me, so I'm like a ghost for him. I was talking to my friend about him and said "what if he rejects me?" And she said "Not as much as you exaggerate, he's a normal. And a league below you. You are so beautiful, you nice blue eyes, your figure is great. let him date his @ss if he rejects you"
I'm not saying I look like an angel but yeah I'm beautiful.

He's Syrian and my father is Syrian too. And this guy is visiting his country rn. So my friends sent me a text and said send this:
"Hey! I saw that you're recently in Syria. My father is Syrian but I have never been there. And Syria looks so beautiful, are you Syrian too? :)"

Is this message good for a new conversation? Do you guys have another advices?

Understand that guys face rejection when they show interest in someone, also. That vulnerability can open doors or give us the opportunity to accept reality and move on. It's much easier to deal with reality than let fantasies or fears fester inside.

You can say, "I'm not sure if you know who I am (so I'll attach a photo to jog your memory), but I've noticed you at school. I recently heard you are visiting Syria. My father is Syrian, but I've never been there. The pictures I've seen of the country are beautiful... especially Old Damascus, Palmyra and Tartus. I'd like to learn about your trip, if you'd like to share."
