Definitely the latter.
Guys will place a lesser preference on height of a woman than women with their preference for height.

Men that are 5'5". The vast majority of men simply do not care about height. Height is almost exclusively a woman's hang up.

I would say the 6'1 woman honestly. But 5'5 is pretty short.

Men. Women are generally attracted to men taller than them, and men usually only care about a woman's height for fear that she won't be attracted to him if she's taller. Of course, the importance that a woman places on a guy's height varies, but the nature of human biology (and especially human sociology) means that many women are- if unconsciously- appallingly cruel to men they deem unattractive; men rarely return that "favor".

On the other hand, there are plenty of guys who LIKE tall women. It may not be easy for them, but it's much worse for the short guys.

As a man under 5'5 I'd definitely say that we have it much harder. The majority of women don't date men shorter than them and several of them also want the man to be at least a couple of inches taller than them. On the contrary women's height does not matter to men as much as men's height matters to women. I wouldn't date a woman who is 6'1 because that's just too much difference for me but I could date one who is like 3 inches taller than me. A man who is like 5'10 wouldn't mind dating a 6'1 woman I believe.

Short men have it way harder than tall women. You don't ever hear men talk about tall girls with any of the nastiness women have they talk about short guys.
