Is it normal to feel isolated in University, I have tried to talk to people but after that conversation next time I saw them they didn't know me?

I didn’t make friends during my actual classes at university. I made friends joining political, cultural, dance organizations that are on campus. What are your interests and hobbies? There were organizations and groups for almost every interest at my university

I have played intramural soccer , I also am a bodybuilder so I workout a lot at the gym, the black student association and also i work at a bar in town. When I am in these various spaces people will talk to me. But on campus and in class most of them especially when they are with their friends they act as if they do not know me. So I just keep to myself.

Aww have you ever invited them to hang out outside of those spaces? Or say you were looking for people to study with or if they wanted to grab lunch? Also, when I was in college once I felt similar to you and I posted a status on Facebook (probably instagram would be better to use now lol) saying I was feeling alone and wished I had friends to hang out with, and I was surprised that after people reached out to me and said they didn’t know I felt that way

I have and most times the repose was I am too busy. So why bother

That’s difficult. I’m more stubborn/annoying than you probably 😹 I would ask when they are free and check in again later. If they really seem disinterested I would try to meet other people or pick up a new hobby. Like I don’t really like salsa music that much but my friend keeps suggesting I go to events because you meet people there and I guess it wouldn’t hurt to learn a new kind of dance

I have people talk to me every weekend that I may not remember until the second or third time we talk, and I may be talking to them for 20, 30 minutes. If you're talking about small talk before class, nobody ever is going to remember you for that, during or after university.
