What's the best way to respond to someone who is playing mind games, blowing hot and cold, and is highly manipulative and controlling?

Here are some tips on dealing with a manipulative person:

- Don't take the bait and get drawn into arguments or power struggles. Remain calm and don't let them provoke an emotional reaction.

- Set clear boundaries and stick to them. Be firm but not angry. Say something like "I'm not willing to discuss that right now."

- Don't justify, argue or defend your decisions to them. A manipulator will try to poke holes in your reasoning. Just state your choice is made.

- Limit contact as much as possible. Only interact about logistical topics when necessary, then end the interaction.

- Don't try to out-manipulate them at their own game. Take the high road with integrity.

- Consider counseling to build up your self-esteem and confidence. Seeing through their mind games clearly is key.

Ask yourself if this is someone you want to spend your life with and can you handle this type of emotional abuse... if not then walk away and dont waste anymore of your time.

Ignore and avoid them and avoid criticising them to mutual friends. Then karma will bite them on the arse.
