When getting caught or deciphered, they act as if, that’s YOU, who did something wrong and not them and they try ti make you feel guilty, while it was never you, who did something and they were the ones lying.

They were lying to avoid taking responsibility for something. When you catch onto what they're doing, they respond by trying to manipulate you into feeling responsible so that you aren't angry at them.
