436 opinions shared on Dating topic. I could tell that my rich ex-boyfriend didn't love me, and so for that reason, the fact that I at least never had to worry about food or shelter during the time we were together (cause he paid for everything), his money served as a de-stresser regarding the pain that he didn't love me back. But the money never took the pain away completely, and I had to consciously remind myself that I should be thankful for how financially easy he made life for me. So I think that while money might be able to replace love, you need a lot of it in order to fill the empty void caused by not being loved. If my boyfriend had loved me, I wouldn't have minded contributing financially. I never punished him by asking for material things to compensate, but when he offered, I accepted it, while trying to believe that it was his way of showing love. But cuddling, showing me off to his friends and family, and wanting to be in a committed, monogamous relationship would have been so much cheaper for him.

+1 yI would say, when you have enough money, you don't need to be in love.
I think everyone craves love and feeling seen in the simplest of ways. I think people do need a basic level of companionship and trust that behavior like cheating, lying, and stealing undermine. I think of the personal is overall kind and generous the two parties agree, it's OK to outsource specific needs outside of the relationship.
I think having money can definitely help alleviate external stressors and eliminate a zerosum mindset in a relationship.10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yAh, the misguided notion that wealth can replace love, like trying to use a boulder in place of a delicate flower. It is like a karate chop to the head! FecalDong says no! Money may buy temporary satisfaction, much like an orgasm during a porno shoot, but true happiness comes from deep within, like a mighty oak tree growing tall and strong. Love is not something you can buy with gold coins, it is like a seed that must be nurtured and cared for over time. Just like how a porno flick needs passion and chemistry to truly shine, so too does a relationship need love to flourish. So do not let anyone tell you otherwise, my friend. Remember, even the greatest karate master needs someone to hold them tight at night, and that cannot be bought with any amount of money.

Nope. So long as people have a middle class lifestyle and aren't struggling financially they tend to be relatively happy so long as their relationships are running smoothly. Currency is just an imaginary concept. It's not really worth anything. It's a marker of debt. You've already given someone your time, energy, and or goods to acquire it at a previous market value, but by holding onto that currency you are constantly silently taxed through inflation as your currency is devalued. People that accumulate a lot of currency and don't reinvest it in tangible goods are people who slaved for nothing in return. How could you be happy if you are a slave?

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yDepends what you mean by "love". I'll ALWAYS need my family regardless of if I'm a billionaire. But romantic love? Nah there's no such thing. A billion dollars will buy me all I need in that dept. Because no woman ever really loves any man. Only what he can do for her. And with a billion dollars I can do plenty.
