Yo that's sketchy of your ex to hit you up on IG after telling you he's got a girl now. Couple possibilities:

- He's tryna keep you as backup in case things go south with the girlfriend. Tryna leave that option open. Lame.

- Wants to stay on your radar and see what you're up to. Boost his ego to think you might still be interested even though he's taken.

- Could be trying to make the girlfriend jealous if she sees he's following other girls. Maybe things are rocky already.

- Might just be bored and curious what you're posting since you were a past hookup. But still kinda disrespectful to the new girl.

I wouldn't read too much into it if I were you. Dude's probably just being shady. I'd leave him on "ignore" - don't give him the satisfaction of accepting the follow back. You can do better than be someone's side piece!
