It depends who it's from. If it's someone I know, I usually prefer a phone call unless it's a simple message or photo. Then text is good. I just don't like text conversations. They are tedious.

If it's someone I don't know, I prefer text or email.

All serve their purpose. Email is best to express long ideas uninterrupted, like for example, why I love you.

Text messages are best for quick or private conversations in public, but can lack intimacy.

Phone calls are the most intimate because you see and hear the other person, sometimes without words.

Texting is great for quick things. My husband hates it so he calls. But for everyone else I don’t respond unless there’s a text first (ok, I would answer my kids’ calls but they usually text lol)
