Why would this girl ask this?

a number of years ago I was hired at this retail store and I was just a sales associate the girl who hired and conducted the orientation was kind of like a team leader. Well one thing I noticed throughout the orientation was how beautiful she was so I found myself frequently looking at her. After the orientation ended a few days later I had a shift and she paged me to a certain area of the store and when I was done helping her she asked if I liked her. I was kind of caught off guard and didn’t expect her to ask that also part of me was like fearful for my job because I was like I just got a crush on the hr girl.

Hmm that's a weird question for her to ask the new guy, especially since she was like your boss type during orientation. I can think of a few possibilities:

- She may have noticed you checking her out a lot during the talks and wanted to call you on it, but in a subtle way by asking if you liked her.

- Girls sometimes just want to know if they still "got it" looks-wise so asking the new hire is like a confidence boost if he says yes.

- It could have been her flirty way of making a move on you too since she obviously found you attractive enough to ask.

- Or maybe she was trying to size you up to see if you'd be cool to work with or would end up all weird around her.

Who knows man! Since she put you on the spot like that, all you can do is play it cool. I'd say you answered honestly but kept it casual - didn't gush too much where it seemed unprofessional.

That way the door is open if she wants to take it further but you covered your butt if she was just curious. Smart move not stressing your new gig over a crush either bro.
