Maybe it's my bias, but I notice it's almost always shorties that want tall men, while giantesses are fine with men shorter or slightly taller than them.

Because us taller women are more realistic. When we're in school, boys haven't got their growth spurts yet, so we're taller and crush on shorter guys. There's no choice. Naturally, by the time we're adults, that teaches us what's important is the person themselves and not the height, which is very surface-level brainwashing of beauty standards. We won't be affected by it as much because we never had the choice to be so.

So my 5'9 self knew as soon as I met my 5'5/5'6 fiancè that he was a keeper because of how amazing his personality and looks, otherwise, was. Been together happily for 6.5 years and I could never imagine myself being with another person, tall or not.

When I see a taller and meatier woman with a guy obviously shorter than him, it looks to me that she is his protector. Like he is a whimpy guy that needs a big (in weight) woman to protect him from other people. Like he would hide behind her if anyone messed with him.
My then boyfriend was seeing this woman everyone called Amazon woman. She was much bigger and taller than his 5'8". She must have been at least 6' tall . He tried to tell me they were the same size. No matter, he chose her over me until she died. Then he started up with me more.

Yes. Im a 5'4 man and tried my luck with short women. They didn't like height. I've has taller women not care as much. The tallest has been 6'2. Tall women know what its like to be rejected for height, short women don't. Also tall women are less likely to find a guy that towers the hell out of them and place less emphasis on the height of tall men. I've even seen men that are 5'2 and shorter with tall women. Not worth going for a short woman if you're a short guy. It's best to let the height queens be.

Yeah I know. I live in the USA so it doesn't matter what ethnicity you are, American men generally are not small. The women that preach these height standards are like no taller than 5'5. I'd say taller women tend to be less picky because they don't have a very big pool to choose from when it comes to men their same height. Some tend to be happy just to find a partner that's not intimidated or awkward about the height difference in public.

I'm 5'8"-5'9" and my daughter is 5'10". We don't care about height. Tall is nice for a few reasons, but personality matters waaaay more.

I've dated guys from 5'4" -6'4". Short Mexican and Portuguese men were hot. Crazy, but hot. Tall Nordic/Scandinavian guys are also hot. Are they equally hot? I don't even know anymore. She's dated from 5'6"-6'4" and prefers the taller guy because of his personality. The shorter guys can get controlling and insecure, and that's what gets them in trouble.

Pretty much. Short men tend to be insecure but still want to date taller women. They just tend to ruin it with Napoleon complexes or general insecurities even when they get the tall woman. Women on the other hand tend to be looking for protection and better genes for their children. They are less likely to date shorter if they are already short. Different motivations and different outcomes. The same can be said for very tall men as for tall women, most don't care if their partner is tall.

Except that the woman's height matters just as much as the man's height; if a woman is well below 5ft, even if they go for a man over 6ft, there's still no guarantee. What would you consider short for a man? For me I consider any man shorter than 5'8 to be a manlet while any man who's taller than 6ft to be tall. The average American male is 5'9 while the average Canadian male is actually 5'10, so I'm technically below average lol.

Shortness is dominant and tallness is recessive. A woman can be 5ft and have recessive tall genes. But, either way she's introducing those genes and making her offspring more competitive genetically.

The women in our family are much bigger and stronger with each generation. My nana is about 5'4", mom 5'6", my 5'9", and my daughter 5'10". Even my son is 6ft while his dad and my brother are 5'10", because we have recessive tall genes. My other partner is 5'6", his parents are 5'2" and 5'4", while his brother is 5'10". Mixing up the gene pool means we have offspring in a variety of shapes and sizes so that someone will survive no matter what nature decides is fittest. Sometimes it's small, sometimes it's tall. Small works for a lot of cultures with less food.

Short to me for a guy would be any guy not taller than me. Tall is any guy taller. I don't over think it.

I was 5'8 back then and he was at most a 5'5, now we're both just under 6ft (the exact same height).
