I think you will want to spend a little more time getting to know her and talking than just hey I'm (your name) where ya from and by the way can I get them digits? She is probably say no. The people most successful with me and getting my info was to have a good chat and get to know me. Best ever was a guy that did that and then asked if I came (to the bar we were at) often. I did so he asked the next time I would possibly be there. I told him my friends and I usually hit it up on Saturdays. He ended up with my number because he took some time and had patience.

Yeah get to know her a little bit. The other thing you can do to avoid her not wanting to give her number is put the ball in her court and write down your number and give it to her. Just another idea.

Most of us are fully aware why a total stranger is approaching us and introduce themselves. It becomes totally obvious when they ask for our number. The ultimate reason why a guy approaches an unknown girl is obviously to eventually get into her pants.

For that reason, I never ever give out my number to anyone but those that need to know it such as family or the school secretariat. Not even my friends and acquaintances know my number, simply because I don't like to be disturbed. My phone is for emergencies only.
