Would my boyfriend change his mind about wanting kids in the future?

My boyfriend told me he doesn't want kids at all out of the blue and I told him I want kids in the future so we decided to end the relationship for a bit because we were not compatible in that way. Then he asked me for him back then I took him back. So I am deciding to stay with him because it is hard for me to find someone else. Why would he mention out of the blue to me about him not wanting kids at all? Ever since I took him back will he eventually change his mind?

nope, he could find enough strange on a regular basis so he figured he would see if he could return.
While it is possible that he might change his mind, there are a lot of guys out there that for whatever reason they don't want to have kids.
Many/most women are genetically built and wired to what a family, it is very important to them so they have an internal clock that is counting down.
At some point it can be harder to get pregnant, and then there can be health risks involved for both the mother and the baby.
Do you really want to be 40 with a 3-year-old?
That is why most women seem to have kids when they are younger, they have the energy for it.
It's a decision that you will have to make.
If it is important to you to have a family then it is time to move on.
If you do want a family but you never do then there will always be a deep-seated resentment towards him that will never go away.
It's a tough call, and don't fall for the well I might change my mind later routine, it is just stalling, and a form of control.

That's a tough situation. A few things could be going on here:

- He might have brought it up out of the blue just to be totally honest with you about how he feels now. But people can change their minds.

- Since he asked to get back together, it's possible deep down he hopes his view on kids might change in the future if he's with someone he really cares about, like you.

- Could be he's not 100% set either way yet and just doesn't see himself wanting kids at this stage in his life. But who knows how he'll feel in 5-10 years.

- Staying with him doesn't guarantee his view will change though. Only time will really tell if he's able to see himself as a potential dad one day or not.

My advice would be to really talk it out with him openly and be ok if the answer is still unsure. Don't hang onto false hope either. But you two care about each other, so maybe revisit the topic every so often as your relationship progresses naturally. You just gotta see how you both feel as time goes on without pressure. Tough spot for sure but I hope it works out for you guys!

Nope. I don't want kids either. Never did. That's not going to change. 20% of people choose to be childfree. If that's something you want you're going to have to move on.

Not sure how old he is but he’s probably not going to change his mind. I don’t want kids anymore because I already had kids so it’s different for me
